Email Analytics
Event Tracking

Overview

The Statistics section provides comprehensive insights into your email delivery performance. Every interaction with your emails is tracked as an event, giving you detailed visibility into delivery success, engagement patterns, and potential issues.

Whether you're analyzing delivery rates, monitoring engagement, or troubleshooting delivery issues, the Statistics dashboard provides the data you need to optimize your email campaigns.

What You Can Track

Delivery Performance

  • • Successful deliveries
  • • Bounce rates (hard and soft)
  • • Spam complaints
  • • Queue processing

User Engagement

  • • Email opens
  • • Link clicks
  • • Unsubscribe events

Available Events

Laneful tracks multiple types of events throughout the email delivery lifecycle. Each event provides specific insights into different aspects of your email performance.

Important Note

Note: "Drop" events indicate that an email has been suppressed by Laneful's automatic protection systems.

Delivery Events

Core Delivery Events

Email Request

Initial request to send an email has been received and queued for processing.

Delivery

Email has been successfully delivered to the recipient's email server.

Deferred

Delivery has been temporarily delayed, usually due to recipient server issues. Will be retried.

Drop

Email has been suppressed by Laneful's protection systems (e.g., unsubscribed user, invalid address).

Bounce Events

Hard Bounce

Permanent delivery failure (invalid email address, domain doesn't exist, etc.). Laneful automatically suppresses delivery to hard bounced emails and returns drop events for subsequent attempts to these addresses.

Soft Bounce

Temporary delivery failure (mailbox full, server temporarily unavailable). Delivery will be retried.

Spam

Email was marked as spam by the recipient or email provider. This affects sender reputation.

Engagement Events

User Interaction Events

Open

Recipient has opened the email. Tracked using pixel tracking when HTML content is enabled.

Click

Recipient has clicked on a link within the email. Includes information about which link was clicked.

Unsubscribe

Recipient has unsubscribed from emails. Future emails to this address will be automatically suppressed.

System Events

Internal Processing Events

Lane Full

Sending lane has reached capacity. Emails are queued until capacity becomes available.

Queue Deferred

Email has been placed in the delivery queue due to rate limiting or capacity constraints.

Queue Processed

Email has been processed from the queue and is being sent through available lanes.

Remove Bounce Status

Admins can remove the bounce marking from email addresses if needed, allowing delivery attempts to resume.

Automatic Protection

When an email address hard bounces, Laneful automatically:

  • • Adds the email address to the suppression list
  • • Blocks all future delivery attempts to that address
  • • Returns "Drop" events for any subsequent send attempts
  • • Maintains the bounce record in Analytics → Bounces

This automatic protection helps maintain your sender reputation by preventing repeated attempts to invalid email addresses.
